Practice fee: approx. €129.83
Important instructions:
Driving school fees: The amounts mentioned above are only the fees for the test itself. Additional costs include the driving school fees for theoretical and practical training, as well as registration fees.
Legal regulation: The testing fees are the same nationwide and are collected by testing organizations such as TÜV and DEKRA.
Retake: If the exam is failed, these fees will be charged again.

Anyone applying for a driver's license must provide proof of a first aid course and an eye test . The course costs around €60 at the Red Cross, for example. The eye test must be no more than two years old and must be conducted by an officially recognized testing center. At an ophthalmologist's office, it costs between €6 and €10 ; many opticians offer it free of charge.
The cost for the required biometric passport photo is approximately €7 - €10 .
The fees charged by the road traffic authority for a driver's license application vary – depending on the federal state – between approximately €38 and €70 .
The fees mentioned above for the presentation for the theoretical and practical examination, as well as the examination fees at TÜV, will also be due again for any further examination.
Those who fail the practical driving test must take further driving lessons (usually 4-6 practice hours) . This can become very expensive in individual cases – therefore, only those who, according to the driving instructor's assessment , can safely operate the car in traffic should register for the test.
